Iron Man is not his real
name. It’s the name given to him by the U.S. government. The mainstream media
never mentioned him or told his story.
I have copies of his
documents, originally marked SECRET/NOFORN.
He was a
Counter-Terrorism/Counter-Intelligence Analyst for Naval Criminal Investigative
Services (NCIS). He was assigned to Joint Forces Intelligence Command (JFIC)
from April 1998 to June 2001.
He served as the Deputy
of JFIC’s Asymmetric Warfare Branch (DO5), and served as the acting Branch
Chief from late 2000 to June 2001.
Iron Man is the only
person who has come forward with this information. He just wanted to tell the
truth.
He wanted others to tell
the truth.
On May 8, 2006, he filed
a formal complaint with the Department of Defense (DOD) Inspector General. He
stated that in May 2002, in response to a Congressional Inquiry, the JFIC
falsely reported information related to al-Qaeda and the 9/11 attacks. As a
result, DOD officials reported false information to Congress.
Iron Man indicated that
he was personally involved in JFIC intelligence activities related to al-
Qaeda and the 9/11 attacks and had first-hand knowledge of circumstances surrounding that false reporting to the Office of Secretary of Defense and Congress.
Qaeda and the 9/11 attacks and had first-hand knowledge of circumstances surrounding that false reporting to the Office of Secretary of Defense and Congress.
In 2008, the DOD
Inspector General issued a 37 page report in response to Iron Man’s complaint.
The report states “We found no evidence that the JFIC misled Congress by
withholding operational information in response to the 9/11 Commission.”
It should be noted that
the DOD response was not even accurate. They named the 9/11 Commission. Iron
Man’s complaint was directed at the 2002 Congressional Inquiry, not the 9/11
Commission.
It’s interesting that a
complaint aimed at the DOD was investigated by the DOD.
There is no reason to
doubt Iron Man, and I believe him. He had nothing to gain by lying about this.
No one even knows his real name. He hasn’t gained any fame or fortune. In fact,
he was falsely accused of leaking classified information. He risked being
falsely imprisoned just for coming forward.
Iron Man filed a Freedom
of Information Act (FOIA) request to obtain a copy of his original complaint.
He filed it on September 11, 2006 and it was granted on April 8, 2011. The
document was released with minimal redactions, mostly hiding the names of those
involved and is available for anyone to read.
Here are the facts as
stated by Iron Man:
There was a DO5 briefing
in the summer of 2000, given to Joint Forces Command (JFCOM) senior staff.
The briefing indicated
that World Trade Centers #1 and #2 were the most likely buildings to be
attacked in the U.S., followed closely by the Pentagon.
The briefer indicated
that the worst case scenario would be one tower collapsed onto the other.
The possibility of
planes striking the buildings was discussed in the red cell analysis leading up
to the briefing.
The acting deputy of DO5
proposed that the building could be struck by a jetliner.
Discussion followed on
contacting World Trade Center security and engineering/architectural staff, but
the idea was not further explored because of a command climate discouraging
contact with the civilian community.
However, JFCOM J3
directed that the national military terrorism exercise for FY 02 be based on a
New York worse-case scenario. They couldn’t do it in 2001, because the military
was already committed to another exercise.
The JFIC routinely
prepared analytical reports and supplemented national agencies with original
intelligence on UBL and Afghanistan. (Osama bin Laden was sometimes referred to
as Usama bin Laden or UBL for short).
Iron Man stated that the
last JFIC commanding officer he served under was adamantly opposed to JFIC
conducting any original analysis on al-Qaeda and directed such work be stopped
in late 2000-early 2001.
Here is my analysis:
The JFIC was told to
stop tracking Osama bin Laden at the exact time when the 9/11 attacks would
have been in the final planning and preparation stages.
There were other events
in late 2000 and early 2001.
On October 12, 2000
there was a terrorist attack on the USS Cole that killed seventeen sailors.
This was certainly not a good time to cut back on analysis of al-Qaeda. The
JFIC should have been ordered to increase their analysis on al-Qaeda, not
eliminate it.
In 1999, NORAD conducted
an exercise named Falcon Indian that involved five terrorists hijacking a
jetliner with the intention of crashing into the UN building. The plane in the
exercise was flying coast to coast. Similar hijacking exercises involving
jetliners crashing into buildings were conducted until at least October 2000.
In 2000, according to five
witnesses, Mohamed Atta’s picture was on a chart created by the U.S. Special
Operations Command (SOCOM) and the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). It was
part of a classified military planning effort named Able Danger. Three other
9/11 hijackers were identified on the chart.
In 2010, one of the
witnesses, Lt. Col. Shaffer, published a book. The DOD purchased and burned
9,500 copies of the book. The DOD claimed it revealed too many secrets.
The CIA had tracked
future hijackers Nawaf Alhamzi and Khalid Al-Midhar to San Diego after the men
were photographed at an al Qaeda planning meeting in Malaysia in January 2000.
The CIA never informed the FBI. 9/11 may well have been prevented if they had.
It has been leaked that
the 28 pages outline Saudi government support for these same two hijackers.
These two known
terrorists were not put on a watch list until August 23, 2001.
It was too late. According
to ABC news, the State Department, unaware that Al-Midhar was a suspected
terrorist, had issued him a new multi-entry visa two months before. Alhamzi was
already in the country. These two terrorists were listed as hijackers on the
plane that hit the Pentagon.
President Bush was
elected in late 2000 after a long dispute over the vote totals. He was sworn in
on January 20, 2001. According to multiple sources, he did not put a high
priority on terrorism threats.
Within days of President
Bush taking office, his top terrorism expert on the National Security Council,
Richard Clarke, urged National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice to resume
drone flights to track down bin Laden. The Predators, however, were not put
back in the air before Sept. 11.
In May 2001, Visa
Express was implemented. This policy made it easy for Saudi Arabian nationals
to get a visa and come to the United States. Fifteen of the hijackers were
Saudis and some of them used Visa Express to enter the country. In 2002, a
reporter, Joel Mowbray, was detained and questioned by the State Department
after publishing articles about the policy. It wasn’t cancelled until July 19,
2002.
Attorney General John
Ashcroft stopped flying on commercial jets in the summer of 2001.
NORAD was conducting
hijacking exercises on 9/11 and those exercises had been moved up from October
to the exact day of the 9/11 attacks. The fake hijackings appeared on radar
along with the real ones.
Speaking of radar, the
plane that hit the Pentagon flew through a radar gap. It disappeared from radar
screens for a half hour or more. No one knows how the terrorists could have
known where the radar gap was. It helped to make the attack on the Pentagon
successful.
The Pentagon was hit,
just like the DO5 predicted, but it was hit in a reinforced section, minimizing
casualties, and in an area far away from where military commanders had their
offices.
The Pentagon had been
conducting MASCAL (Mass Casualty Plan) exercises in the months before 9/11.
This training also minimized casualties. Everyone knew exactly what to do after
the plane hit.
In a Pentagon article, written
shortly after the attacks, General Myers is quoted as saying “We hadn’t thought
about this”.
The truth is, they
thought about all of it.
They had the exact
targets. They named both World Trade Center Towers and the Pentagon. They named
the method of attack; a jetliner. They had some of the exact faces and names on
a chart, including Atta, the ringleader. NORAD conducted an exercise involving
five hijackers, the exact number of hijackers on each 9/11 plane that hit a
target. The plane in the exercise was traveling from coast to coast, just like
the 9/11 planes.
The entire attack was
predicted. The only detail the military got wrong was that one tower did not
collapse onto the other. They both came straight down.
During the 9/11
Commission hearings, all military and government officials insisted that they could
never have envisioned anything like 9/11.
Condi Rice was one of
those officials. In one of her statements to the 9/11 Commission, she said “No
one could have imagined them taking a plane, slamming it into the Pentagon ...
into the World Trade Center, using planes as a missile.”
One of the 9/11 widows
wrote a scathing letter to Condi Rice. She asked her to “please stop lying”.
The letter is titled: “Condi Rice: Here’s Your 9/11 Smoking Gun”.
She told Condi: “Many of
the teams tracking these terrorists were inexplicably thwarted, blocked, and
ordered to STOP their surveillance, investigation, and analysis of the 9/11
terrorists who went on to kill 3,000 innocent people like my husband.”
As a side note, there
would not have been a 9/11 Commission if it weren’t for the efforts of this
9/11 widow and other 9/11 family members. Bush and Cheney did not want an
investigation.
Here is a link to Iron
Man’s documents.

widow’s letter.
My next post will discuss
Iron Man’s reason for filing his complaint and the other member of the DO5
mentioned in his complaint. That man is no longer with us and can’t complain
about anything.
Comments please.
Amazing information. Very concise and very well written.
